Simona Clò, Ph.D.
Marine Biologist. Ever since 1994 she has devoted her scientific career to sharks, especially on blue and basking sharks. Simona has been working with ICRAM (Italy's Marine Research Institute) where she is responsible for the Sharks- a Protected Species programme. She is taking part in the "Cooperative Shark Tagging Program" of the american National Marine Fisheries Service which involves the catch, tagging and release of different species of sharks. She has published several papers at national and international congresses and meetings but works in popularising science through the Civic Aquarium and the University of Milan- Biology Dept. A founding member of GRIS - the association of Italian shark researchers - she is also a member of the EEA (European Elasmobranch Association) and of the AES (American Elasmobranch Association)
Milena Modena
Marine biologist, currently completing her Ph.D. A researcher with ICRAM (Italy's Marine Research Institute), Milena is an expert in animal research through visual census and has worked extensibley in environmental education. At Icram she has been investingating the ecological and biological consequences on fishes of the petroleum disaster that followed the sinking of the Haven tanker.
Eleonora de Sabata
Since 1988 Eleonora de Sabata, a journalist and photographer specialised in the marine field, published over 500 reportage on the most important travel, nature and marine magazines in Italy and abroad, including the National Geographic. She is the author of two travel books and has contributed with articles and photos to several other books, some of which dedicated to the children. Eleonora has taken part in BBC and Discovery Channel TV productions on the Mediterranean sea and is a consultant for Italy's State TV RAI (Geo&Geo and Linea Blu) and Mediaset (lo Stivale delle Meraviglie). Her photos are on display in Rome's National Zoological Museum and in the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California. She belongs to SIBM, the Italian Society of Marine Biology and is in the organizing committee of the 7th Meeting of the European Elasmobranch Association 2003.
Luigina Aggio
Underwater video. She has been working with RAI, Italy's State television, with Linea Blu and RaiSport (live footage of synchronized swimming competitions). She was the official camerawoman of Claudia Serpieri's two world records in diving (-180m on trimix and -105m on rebreather).
